Dad's Dad

A logical question to follow is about 'God the Father'? Jesus spoke continuously about HIS FATHER. At times it seems that He had little else He cared to talk about. His Father gave Him His words:

These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. John 14: 24

His Father even told Him HOW to say it:

For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. John 12:49

... I do exactly what my Father has commanded me. John 14:31

Jesus even went as far as to say that

"my Father is greater than I" John 14:28

Once you remove the Trinitarian voodoo, we see simply a very obedient, faithful SON. Is it any wonder we call Him "the Son of God"? Jesus' Father was the Father of His Spirit. In the same fashion are WE SONS OF OUR FATHER, JESUS.

So what is Jesus' Father's relationship to us? In our current vernacular we would call Jesus' father our "GRANDFATHER", but the Jews didn't have that term. To the Jews, all previous generations were 'father'.
